For Best Results, Follow This Step-by-Step Guide
Surface Preparation
Begin with a thorough wash using a pH-neutral car shampoo. Rinseless wash methods are also suitable.
Decontaminate the Paint
Use a clay bar or clay towel to remove bonded contaminants and ensure a smooth, clean surface.
Dry the Surface
Make sure the paint is completely dry before moving on to the sealant application.
Ideal Application Conditions
Recommended Temperature
Apply above 50°F.
Avoid Direct Sunlight and Hot Panels
Ensure the surface is cool to the touch before application. Applying to hot panels or in direct sunlight can cause the sealant to cure too quickly, making removal difficult. Early morning or late afternoon are ideal times for outdoor application.
Application Instructions
Hand Application
Using a foam or microfiber applicator pad, apply a pea-sized drop of Power Lock Plus. Work in a crosshatch pattern to ensure full coverage.
Machine Application
Using a Blue Jescar Finishing Foam Pad, apply 3–4 pea-sized drops of Power Lock Plus. Work in a crosshatch pattern on speed setting 3–4 to ensure full coverage.
Let It Cure
Allow the sealant to set for 15–30 minutes depending on temperature and humidity. Cooler or more humid conditions may require the full 30 minutes.
Buff Off Residue
Use a clean, dry microfiber towel to wipe off the cured sealant. Flip the towel as needed to avoid streaking.
Avoid Water Exposure
Do not wash or expose the vehicle to rain for at least 12 hours after application to allow proper curing.
Optional Second Coat
For added protection and gloss, a second layer can be applied after 4–6 hours.
Maintenance Tip
For washing, we recommend using a pH-neutral shampoo such as the Jescar Auto Wash Shampoo. After the wash, for ongoing shine and protection, maintain with Jescar Ceramic Spray Wax.
